I was delighted to read that the Law Society has taken a firm stance on equality in relationships in its choice not to permit a debate about gay marriage at the World Congress of Families conference. This article in the Telegraph http://tgr.ph/KW8GfI summarises the rationale behind the Law Society's decision. For those who don't know, the Law Society is the body which oversees the activity of all Solicitors in England and Wales (a slight simplification, but you get the idea).

Whilst The Telegraph describes the World Congress of Families as being "non-religious", Pink News has raked through its website and discovered that it refers to a creator: “the natural human family is established by the Creator and essential to good society.”
My atheist friends would have trouble with that concept .....
